Staff and residents of Oak Springs Care Home in Liverpool with their giant scarf

We've been working with a care home group this week to tell the story of a giant patchwork scarf that has been knitted by one of their homes.

Staff, residents, friends and family of Oak Springs Care Home in Liverpool teamed up to knit a 340 ft long scarf - thought to be the city's longest woollen scarf - which stretches twice as high as the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool.

The scarf was knitted to celebrate Dignity Action Day, an annual opportunity for health and social care workers and members of the public to uphold people’s rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people who use care services.

It will be taken apart over the next few weeks and made into blankets before being donated to Liverpool Women's Hospital and a local homeless shelter.

Radio Merseyside loved the story as well as the Liverpool Echo.

Regular media coverage is a powerful tool for care homes to maintain a consistently high profile in their immediate locality, positioning the home in a good light and helping to drive new enquiries from residents and support recruitment activity.

PR is a key part of the marketing package that Mason Media provides to care home operators across the UK.
